Maximal Oxygen Intake in ROKAF Cadets

Abstract
This investigation was an attempt to determine the maximal aerobic work capacity of 52 ROKAF cadets who usually ake part in regular physical training. The maximal aerobic work capacity was determined by measuring the maximal oxygen intake(MOI) in step-up method.
The maximal heart rate during maximal work was averaged to 187.3beats/min. The maximal minute ventilation was average to 109.6 L/min and the maximal oxygen intake was averaged to 3.61L/minor 58.0 ml/min/kg in AF cadets.
The maximal oxygen intake of ROKAF cadets was compared with those of same aged groups; college students, AF officer¡¯s candidates, Korean Navy cadets(athletes) and UDT (Navy), and was similar or lower than those of selected Korean athletes.
The better maximal aerobic work capacity of AF cadets might be resulted from the regular Physical training: aerobics.
